Or, is it a basic, boring list of my previous job duties? Your resume should be professional, dynamic and ACCOMPLISHMENT based. If you have simply listed your job duties (i.e. "type letters, answer phones and handle customers") then it is not effective.

This is the electronic age. Employers scan resumes for keywords associated with the job at hand.

Am I applying to at least 10-15 jobs per week? Or am I waiting for the "perfect" job? Don't wait. The perfect job does not exist. While you are waiting, other people are getting hired. If you think you are going to land a $15 per hour envelope stuffing or typing job, forget it. It will not happen.

If not you will need to consider entry level sales, phone support, customer service, telemarketing, and appointment setting. You must be positive and professional. Anything less, at any time, will turn off a hiring employer. They can't meet you face-to-face so all they have to go by is your virtual attitude. If its demanding, needy, complaining, or negative they will hire someone else. With this in mind, it's time to stop telling employers that you "really need" a work at home job because of this or that. They don't care. They want to know what you CAN DO for them, not what they can do for you. They do not care how many times you've been scammed or how much money your job search has cost you. They do not want to hear about how you have lost your job or have just had a baby. Telling a hiring employer this is only going to make them look somewhere else. Stop making the employer feel like they are obligated to hire you, or owe you something. Be positive and professional at all times and your feedback rate will improve

Unless necessary, try not to use your dining-room table shouldn't double as your office. Select a quiet space where you can work uninterrupted. It's important to have an area to look forward to working in each day no dreary corners and a place that you can walk away from at the end of your shift.
